Never Too Old

Rain has always been one of my favorite things. It was raining at my studio and I had Singin’ in the Rain going through my head, which caused this little man to end up on paper. The coat is made out of the exterior of a seedpod which I seem to be allergic to. I’m hardly ever affected by the plant material I work with, but this little guy’s coat kept me sneezing. He may or may not be Don from Singin’ in the Rain, but Don is where the idea came from. I’ll give you some bonus trivia - Gene Kelly (who played Don) had a 103 degree fever when he performed this big song.

This picture is made of: gray poplar, birch, pampas grass, hornet nest, mica, banana peel and some kind of leaf and seedpod I don’t know the names of.
